Mobilization in Russia for June 12-15, 2025 CIT Volunteer Summary

Mobilized Soldiers, Contract Soldiers and Conscripts

Based on open sources, Mediazona [independent Russian media outlet] and BBC News Russian, together with volunteers, have verified the names of 113,436 Russian fighters killed in Ukraine, including 12,469 mobilized soldiers. Over the past week, the list has grown by 2,049 soldiers, 133 of whom were mobilized. As journalists have noted, more than half of the deceased had signed contracts with the Ministry of Defense after the outset of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine.

On June 12, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that Russian Armed Forces losses had exceeded 1 million people. BBC News Russian highlighted explanations from the Ukrainian side, indicating that these reports include prisoners of war, those missing in action, soldiers discharged due to injuries and military personnel who were injured but later returned to service. There are also known cases of Russian soldiers who, upon their return from captivity, were redeployed to the frontline. In particular, the Idite Lesom! [Flee through the woods/Get lost you all] project has reported on new appeals from relatives of servicemen in such cases.

The death of 18-year-old conscript soldier Dmitry H., killed in the Bryansk region, has been reported recently. He was killed on June 10 in a UAV attack on Russian positions near the village of Kruglaya Polyana, 300 meters [0.19 mi] from the Ukrainian border. Another 18-year-old conscript, Rustam D., sustained shrapnel wounds and a concussion.

Former police officer Vadim Tekhov was buried in the city of Vladikavkaz. He died from a drug overdose while fighting in Ukraine. In 2021, Tekhov was sentenced to 16 years in a penal colony for the murder of his ex-wife, Regina Gagieva, as well as for assault, robbery, death threats, attempted murder of two people from molester motives, drug possession and inflicting grievous bodily harm with a weapon. In September 2022, while in a penal colony, Tekhov was recruited into the Wagner Group. However, in November of the same year, he was again detained for drug trafficking. In 2023, he returned to the Republic of North Ossetia–Alania [Russia's constituent republic], and in November 2024, he was once again detained in central Vladikavkaz as he was "searching for drugs in dead drops." It is unknown exactly when or under what circumstances Tekhov may have returned to the "special military operation" zone.

According to the VChK-OGPU Telegram channel, a mobilized junior sergeant, Yevgeny Lysakov, died on the frontline in March 2025 due to a conflict with fellow soldiers. A criminal case has been opened into his death under articles related to intentional infliction of grievous bodily harm and extortion. On March 17, 2025, the 28-year-old was brutally beaten by fellow soldiers who were extorting money from him. He later died from his injuries. One of the accused has been placed in a pre-trial detention center, while the second extortionist has yet to be identified.

Sentences, Legal Proceedings and Incidents

According to the Astra Telegram channel, a criminal case has been opened in the Yeravninsky district of Buryatia [Russia's constituent republic] against 41-year-old serviceman Denis B. under the article concerning the rape of a minor. He is accused of raping his daughter in the summer of 2024. Sources report that the soldier has not been detained.

On June 11, a district court in the Voronezh region placed Roman Krymov, acting deputy head of the Gribanovsky district, under house arrest in connection with a fraud case. According to investigators, in February-March 2025, Krymov received 750,000 rubles [$9,410] in recruitment bonuses for enlisting people to fight in the war—although in reality, he had not recruited anyone.

A 69-year-old pensioner from Russia’s Kursk region has been fined in a hooliganism case stemming from the arson of a railway relay cabinet. Initially, Irina Mineyeva was ordered to pay a fine of 700,000 rubles [$8,780]. However, taking into account her time under house arrest, the fine was reduced to 300,000 rubles [$3,760]. According to investigators, Mineyeva received instructions last January via a messaging app from an unknown person to set fire to a relay cabinet at the Blok-post 530 km railway station. She filmed the act and sent the video to her contact. Mineyeva was later detained by law enforcement officers. She has denied the charges.
