The main development on the frontline remains the successful Ukrainian operation in the Dnipropetrovsk region in the Oleksandrivka direction. Last week, Ukraine officially announced that it had liberated a large number of settlements over the past six months, and DeepState reflected these advances on its map. The Russian side responded almost immediately, publishing footage showing Russian flags in roughly the same areas where the Armed Forces of Ukraine had been advancing. OSINT researchers who examined these posts found that in some cases the claimed geolocation did not match the actual location; in others, the footage turned out to be old; and some videos had been generated using AI. В Госдуму внесли законопроект об ужесточении наказания за мошенничество и вымогательство в отношении военнослужащих и участников добровольческих формирований. В случае, если военным будет причинён значительный ущерб, такое преступление будет относиться к категории тяжких или особо тяжких. On Aug. 12, analysts finally marked the results of the Ukrainian six-month offensive in the Oleksandrivka direction on the map, timing the update to coincide with a post by the Ukrainian Air Assault Forces about the operation, which began on Jan. 29, 2026. The Armed Forces of Ukraine made most of their gains in the Dnipropetrovsk region, although they also captured several settlements in the Zaporizhzhia and Donetsk regions.

12 августа аналитики, наконец, отметили на карте итоги полугодового украинского наступления на александровском направлении, приурочив своё сообщение к публикации десантно-штурмовых войск ВСУ об этой операции, начавшейся 29 января 2026 года. Большая часть продвижений наблюдается в Днепропетровской области, но некоторые населённые пункты ВСУ заняли в Запорожской и Донецкой областях.

In the Zaporizhzhia region, in the Orikhiv direction, Ukrainian strikes were recorded against a suspected Russian position in the northwestern part of the village of Mala Tokmachka. Based on this, as well as the presence of Russian assault troops on the outskirts of the town of Orikhiv, some observers concluded that Mala Tokmachka may already be under the control of the Russian Armed Forces (in which case, the soldiers would have reached these positions from the southeastern part of the village). However, we consider it much more likely that the assault troops advanced toward Orikhiv from the village of Robotyne via the village of Novodanylivka (a similar route is shown on the map produced by the pro-Russian Slivochnyi Kapriz project)...

В Запорожской области на ореховском направлении были зафиксированы украинские удары по предполагаемой российской позиции в северо-западной части села Малая Токмачка. Исходя из этого, а также появления штурмовиков на окраине Орехова, некоторые сделали вывод, что Малая Токмачка уже может быть под контролем ВС РФ (в таком случае солдаты пришли на эти позиции из юго-восточной части села). Однако мы считаем куда более вероятным, что к Орехову штурмовики продвигались от села Работино через село Новоданиловка (подобная траектория обозначена и на карте пророссийского проекта «Сливочный каприз»). В таком случае говорить о захвате Малой Токмачки преждевременно: ВС РФ одновременно атакуют село с юго-востока и северо-запада. Тем не менее...
Mobilization in Russia for Aug. 6-9, 2026 CIT Volunteer Summary
As of Aug. 5, authorities in the Primorsky region [Russia's federal subject] raised the bonus for signing a contract with the Ministry of Defense to take part in the war against Ukraine to 3 million rubles [$36,700]. Including the federal component, the total payment amounts to 3.4 million rubles [$41,600]. The bonus is available to those who sign contracts with units involved in the war, as well as to students who sign a contract for service in the Unmanned Systems Forces. In 2025, the region's authorities raised the bonus three times; in April 2025, they set it at 2.1 million rubles [$25,700].
